Walking Eagle by Haida Shaman, Bill Selody of Smithers, BC.  This original work by this renowned Haida artist, reflects his knowledge and appreciation of the subject as shown by the great detail and patterns he gives us in the wings and feathers (abstracted lines/profile), and complex patterns on the breast (red, white, black) and legs (red, grey).  The white face with red lines is striking.  The negative white space in the back of the head portrays an image of a flying eagle.

The Eagle is believed to be the creature with the closest relationship with the creator. Eagles can travel between the physical world and the spiritual world.  The eagle signifies focus, great strength, peace, leadership and incredible prestige.
