Description
Interesting, expressive miniatures. On first appearance, they appear primitive - carving marks are throughout; surfaces are not filed smooth. However, the carving of the faces is quite sophisticated and far from primitive. In particular, one can see the "whites" of the woman's eyes. The sculptures are also two-toned. Most of the sculpture is a mid-tone grey Arctic stone. The woman’s hair and the tip on the parkas are a lighted grey tone and both are etched. Est. 1970s.
