This gourd vessel was acquired in Masai Mara in 2000. The Masai maximize their protein intake by milking and blood letting their cattle for consumption. The milk and blood are combined in vessels such as this gourd before drinking. This is beautifully carved with significant detail. Images of elephants and rhinos are featured prominently.
