Folk Art
In this collection you will find hand carved vintage Quebecois and international folk art plus Canadiana works of art. Uniquely, Langford Gallery presents works by several master sculptors in this collection. Here you will find sculptures by renowned Quebec artists and teachers Medard, Andre and Jean-Julien Bourgault of St. -Jean – Port Joli, and many others from the Bourgault family. Master carved sculptures are distinguished by the quality and expressions on the faces of the subjects and in the detail of their hands. Quebecois carvings from the 20th century embody Canadian heritage. Historical figures such as farmers, sailors, lumberjacks and blacksmiths are portrayed en bois.
