Narwal in Green Stone Inuit Carving back

Please enter a quantity.

Description

This piece was carved from truly beautiful green Arctic stone with exquisite veining. It was acquired on Jock Langford's first visit to Iqaluit when he was with Environment Canada. The carving style is rather primitive especially the facial features. Narwhals are not a common subject for Inuit and this is the largest Narwhal Jock has seen in his travels.

Often dubbed the Unicorns of the Sea, the Narwhal tusk is in fact a tooth.
