Description

Very unique.  Sculptures of blacksmiths are relatively scarce but a sculpture this size  (16” tall) is extremely rare.  This sculpture is more complex than most in that Godro included an accompanying anvil in the base.  Godro is a very good sculptor and this can be seen in the quality of the face and hands. The mouth and nose are well carved but his eyes are exquisite.  The eye lids and wrinkles around the eyes are highlights of this work of art. Godro was even able to finely portray the pupils of the eyes. Pine (soft wood).  Sculpted from one piece of wood.  Quebec. Est. 1970s.
